The strong colors and bold shapes used by artist Sonia Delaunay in her work begged to be interpreted into a fabric. This could be because Delaunay herself worked in the textile medium in her later years. This 54” upholstery is a tribute to her work, creating a pattern that relies on a mix of rectangular shapes with straight lines and half circles. Rayon in the weft creates a Cubist pattern, while polyester holds the textile together, and cotton in the ground provides a matte contrast and comfortable hand. Delaunay has a GreenShield finish, making it ideal for contract environments seeking a spark. Exceeds 50,000 double rubs (Wyzenbeek).
