Brentano Spotlights Color at the 2009 HD Expo
Brings home two IIDA/HD Product Design Awards

Brentano took home two Product Design Awards - one for a unique double-embroidered faux leather upholstery, and the other for a stunning laser-cut drapery.

By isolating and focusing on emerging colors, Brentano created an HD Expo display that was a dramatic showing of color. The feature fabric, Casbah, exemplifies Brentano's ability to create classic textiles with a modern twist. Combining a centuries - old ikat pattern with saturated current colors in a large-scale repeat makes Casbah the ideal upholstery or drapery for any interior that needs a dose of drama. Casbah will be available with the launch of Brentano's fall 2009 collection and will come in seven striking colorways.

The booth focused on textiles suitable for hospitality applications and included many from Brentano's current spring 2009 Doodle collection, as well as colorful patterns from previous collections, and numerous beautiful offerings from the upcoming fall 2009 collection which will launch August 1, 2009. Two of these upcoming fabrics won awards in their product categories in the 13th annual IIDA/Hospitality Design Magazine Hospitality Product Design Competition. The competition recognizes designers and manufacturers for excellence in product design and honors innovation, function, and aesthetic advancements in the hospitality industry.

De-Vine, a double-embroidered faux leather with a large-scale repeat, won the IIDA/HD Product Design Award for upholstery entrants. Perfect for vertical panels, headboards, ottomans, and accent pieces, De-Vine can be paired with its durable counterpart Ooh La La, which offers coordinating solids for each of its six majestic colorways.

Rendezvous is a fashion-influenced pattern that will be available in three luminous colors. The double-layer construction of Rendezvous gives it a delicate appearance (while in reality it is easy to use), and also enables remarkable depth and luster. Winner of the IIDA/HD Award for drapery, bedspread, or casement fabrics, Rendezvous can be used as drapery, partitions, accent pillows and throws.

In 2008, Brentano's unique drapery Intersection took home the award for the drapery, bedspread, or casement fabric product category.

By constructing a studio table, Brentano created a space to commune and discuss textiles, much like they do in the design studio.
