The design community flocked to Chicago House's annual Birdhouse Art Auction on July 23, 2011, in support of the organization's mission "to provide housing and supportive services to HIV-affected and HIV-at risk families and individuals." The avian-themed event featured work by over 50 artists, including both functional and conceptual birdhouses and bird-inspired pieces of every description.

Brentano's contribution to the auction, an Andreu World America chair with a striking purple frame and contrasting upholstery in Elsa, a Brentano fabric with a playful bird motif, made a bold statement in the neutral environment of Room & Board. The color-forward piece was in keeping with the "branching out" theme and suited the whimsy of an evening that included live exotic birds to interact with the guests and a guitarist playing from within his own aviary.

"Chicago House is a great organization," reflected Brentano National Sales Manager Jeff Frank, who attended the Birdhouse Art Auction, "and I think it's great that Brentano can give back to the community in this way."
