Crypton uses a patented system to encase textile fibers with a proprietary copolymer formula P385. Crypton offers stain, moisture, mold, mildew, bacteria and odor-resisting protection. It is not a surface treatment, but a textile that is transformed through a series of processes. Initially embraced by the healthcare industry, Crypton is also used in hospitality and contract industries and rapidly gaining popularity in residential markets
Crypton does not contain any toxic chemicals, heavy metals or carcinogens that can be leached out with water or upholstery cleaners. Crypton Super Fabrics do not contain air polluting VOCs. Crypton uses no PFOAs (perfluorooctanoic acids) during its manufacturing process. Crypton uses no formaldehyde and does not contain vinyl.
Crypton is UFAC Class 1, and it passes the normal Cal. 117E and NFPA 260 requirements. Crypton can be treated to pass Cal. 133 (with components), IMO RES 16-52A, CRIB 5, Boston and New York Fire Codes, automotive FMVSS302 requirements, and aviation FAR25-853.
The test for breathability (ASTM-E96) measures the amount of vapor that can pass through the fabric. The pores formed in Crypton's treatment are large enough to let water vapor pass through but small enough to keep water out.

Nano-Tex is a type of textile finishing that uses nanotechnology, the manipulation of matter on an atomic and molecular scale, to alter the properties of a textile to increase resistance to spills and stains.
Nano-Tex is an environmentally friendly finishing option. It is Cradle-to-Cradle Basic certified by the third-party organization MBDC, and a fabric finished with Nano-Tex can be recycled.
DuraBlock is a backing that can be applied to all fabrics finished with Nano-Tex. DuraBlock forms a breathable, liquid-proof barrier that prevents liquids or contaminants from reaching the seat cushion. Its ideal usage is for seating in high-traffic areas in healthcare, institutional, and educational environments. DuraBlock is certified Cradle-to-Cradle Basic by MBDC, and fabrics backed with DuraBlock can be recycled.
Nano-Tex plus Bio-Am is Nano-Tex with antimicrobial benefits. This is a permanent finish that protects the fabric against microbes such as MRSA, mildew, mold, fungi, algae, and bacteria. It helps to reduce odors and stains caused by microbes. It can be applied to virtually all fabrics, including natural and synthetic fibers. Nano-Tex plus Bio-Am is environmentally friendly. In addition to being biodegradable, it also does not contain any arsenic, tin, heavy metals or polychlorinated phenols. This finish will not change the hand of the fabric. Nano-Tex Bio-Am is ideal for cubicle curtains, panel systems, upholstery, and drapery.
