FABRICS : bleach cleanable fabrics
All of Brentano's bleach cleanable fabrics, as indicated by a
'B' in the cleaning code, can be cleaned with a dilute solution of household bleach in the specified ratio. For example, "W/S/B 1:10" means that the fabric can withstand a concentration of one part household bleach to ten parts water. Typical household bleach products are only 6% bleach, but even a 1:10 diluted solution of these products satisfies the
Center for Disease Control's recommendation for disinfecting a surface.
Brentano's bleach cleanable fabrics satisfy our own in-house test for evaluating how well they hold up to bleach. Fabrics woven with solution dyed fibers and high-energy dyed polyester exhibit strong colorfastness when exposed to bleach, and
polyurethane-based fabrics can be treated with a finish that enables them to withstand both bleach and high concentrations of rubbing alcohol.
Many bleach cleanable fabrics have additional stain resistant finishes,
antibacterial finishes, and moistures barriers such as
DuraBlock and
Balance Barrier. This combination of performance features makes them the standard for hospital facilities and busy restaurants.
